The CMHC has two primary offerings for supporting First Nations seeking to build capacity in their housing departments – the Indigenous Skills Training program that supports capacity activities to improve housing outcomes for First Nations and the Housing Internship for Indigenous Youth, which provides a wage subsidy for applicants to hire an Indigenous youth between 15 and 30 years of age to gain work experience in housing.
