Overview of the Indigenous Youth Housing Strategy
Government, funders, housing providers, youth-serving organizations.
Nominated for the Young Indigenous Changemakers Award in 2025, Bailey Waukey is a Youth Policy Analyst and leads the Indigenous Youth Housing Strategy with the Aboriginal Housing Management Association (AHMA). Bailey is Ojibwa and Mohawk from Ontario. He has worked with young people since he was 15, building extensive experience in restorative justice, public policy, and hip-hop dancing.
Bailey led the development of AHMA’s innovative Indigenous Youth Housing Strategy and likes to spend his off-time skateboarding, training martial arts, and walking his dog named Strawberry. Bailey’s strength is combining his frontline experience with policy initiatives that centre youth voices and lived experience.
