This year’s Builders Challenge was an exciting, three-day event focused on hands-on learning and real-world skills. Key highlights include:

• Four Key Sessions: Demolition, Restructuring, Vinyl Flooring, and Floor Base Moulding, focused on tackling mould challenges in First Nations homes. 
• Guidance from Experts: Led by celebrity handyman Jon Eakes and seasoned housing expert Kevin Connor, who shared valuable techniques and insights. 
• Youth and Delegate Collaboration: For the first time, delegates were paired with youth from Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School, Matawa Education, and Hammarskjold High School in live building competitions. 
• Increased Participation: Nine workstations were used to accommodate growing interest and foster teamwork. 
• Recognition: Youth were awarded certificates and toolboxes, marking the start of their journey in the construction field. 

It was a truly memorable event, offering valuable skills and experiences for the future leaders of First Nations housing.
